Seeing is believing folks. I was indeed happy to be able to go to the Virgin Mobil Fest and see a great many awesome ass-kicking bands. I must admit watching Iggy Pop jump and hop all over the stage at his age was amazing. Iggy still has it folks. I would have liked to see him sing more songs but than again; he has got some years on him. He still looks the same and he did’nt pass out or have a stroke in that amazingly hot weather. I had a great time and could only wish to see him again. He put the energy level of some of the younger musicians look like O. I will say the following video clip is shaky because I was hopping up and down ( It’s hard not to rock when you drink several shots and you’re listening to good yesteryear music that reminds you of your punk rock days.

The digital camera ( Not camcorder ) I bought for this festival sound quality sucked, so I got rid of it. I will have a different one at the next festival. There will be more shaky crapy sound videos I made in future blogs, but what do you expect it’s not like you paid to view this.

Masked Alternative Rock Group on A&M/Octone Records Will Perform Live For the
First Time Ever at the Largest Music Festival on the East Coast
WARREN, NJ, July 23, 2008 – For a band that has only performed online and never live,
the 2008 Virgin Mobile Festival, the largest festival on the East Coast, figures to be quite a
premiere. Fueled by the popularity of MySpace and other social networking sites, Los
Angeles’s own Hollywood Undead (www.myspace.com/hollywoodundead) nabbed more than
half the votes in Virgin Mobile USA’s second annual Book The Band contest sponsored by
Kyocera Wireless and MySpace.
Hollywood Undead will join more than 40 acts including an all-star lineup featuring Foo
Fighters, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots and Bob Dylan.
The Virgin Mobile Festival takes place August 9 and 10 at Baltimore’s Pimlico RaceCourse®
with entertainment spanning across two stages, a dance tent, and a total of 25 acres of arts
and attractions. With their signature masks on, Hollywood Undead will take to the stage on
August 10, kicking off Day Two of the festival with their fusion of hip-hop, emo and metal.

Hollywood Undead beat out four other up-and-coming bands by receiving an overwhelming
53% (285,000 votes) of the more than 540,000 votes placed online and via text between
June 16 through July 21. Hollywood Undead will release their highly anticipated debut album, “Swan Songs” (via A&M/Octone) on August 26, 2008. Tampa-based Automatic
Loveletter came in second place with more than 161,000 votes. New Jersey’s The Parlor
Mob, Brooklyn’s We Are Scientists, and New York’s The Virgins came in third, fourth and
fifth, respectively.

Mr. Hall has an interesting new job as anchorman
Anthony Michael Hall, who plays a Gotham City newscaster in The Dark Knight, told SCI FI Wire that his appearance was a secret until he began showing up as Mike Engel, anchor of the Gotham Cable News program Gotham Tonight, in Comcast OnDemand videos. The videos are part of Warner Brothers’ viral marketing campaign for the Batman sequel film.
The Comcast videos are supplemental footage created specifically for the marketing campaign and will not be seen in The Dark Knight. “If you go to Gothamcablenews.com and click on Gotham Tonight, what they’ve done is basically create for Mike Engel the equivalent of Anderson [Cooper] 360 or Larry King Live. It’s a promotional tool, but everybody is in character. It was done, obviously, as a co-venture/production/marketing tool with Comcast

While checking my comments I came across a band that had an older woman on the cover of their CD. ( Ok she was old, but very happy ) Anyway: I listened to the songs that was sent as I always do and while I listened I thought I think I hear touches of Neil young and Coldplay with a little western twang. You should look at the list of bands these guys listed that they like. I thought I was a collage of mixed music. The point is I like them and that’s what matters. (smile)

Farrell performing at the London Astoria in June 2007 Farrell recently formed a new band/theatrical entity entitled The Satellite Party.
Satellite Party is an entire piece of music, with a story line that is a fantasy version of his relationship with his wife, Etty Lau Farrell. Etty sings and plays her part on the record as well as the live stage shows. Satellite Party made its debut appearance in Los Angeles at The Key Club on July 18, 2005, followed by a performance at Lollapalooza 2005, held in Grant Park in downtown Chicago on July 24, 2005.
In November 2006, Satellite Party played with The Doors at the Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip, for the Doors’ 40th anniversary.
Their debut album, Ultra Payloaded, released on May 29, 2007, on Columbia Records, with contributions from artists such as John Frusciante and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, electronic dance producers Hybrid, former Red Hot Chili Peppers/Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.[7]
Satellite Party performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 27, 2007. On June 29, 2007, Satellite Party performed alongside Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon and Queens of the Stone Age at Rock Werchter, Belgium. They also performed at Buzz Beach Ball 3 in Kansas City, Missouri (a concert sponsored by KRBZ), and EndFest 16 in Seattle, Washington.
